Those of you who have seen our ads know that we're very fond of Janet Lasley and her daughter Caylin Brahaney. Their beauty, love and tremedous joi de vivre is absolutely infectious and has inspired us in so many ways. It's hardly surprising then that we're really geared up about our upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend Nicole Miller Trunk Show, which will benefit the work of Janet's oncologist, Dr. Ronald DeMatteo and his laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. DeMatteo has helped Janet battle a rare form of cancer called leiomysarcoma for the past decade.The idea for the Trunk Show took hold after we saw the adorable photo of Janet's daugher Caylin wearing a Nicole Miller party dress that Pryde Brown took during our ad shoot. After posing under the hot lights for half an hour, Caylin spontaneously broke into a few dance moves. It was magic! We emailed the pic to Mary Dougherty, our Nicole Miller rep (and a Lawrenceville resident) and she immediately signed on to work with us on a Trunk Show. Better yet, she said, let's tie it to a benefit. And a great idea was born!So after you've feasted yourselves on Turkey leftovers, grab your daughters, friends, girlfriends and relatives and head down to Merrick's for a great weekend of shopping and a wonderful cause!
