Time to kick off the flip-flops and get dressed again. Both literally: it’s going to be getting cool and cooler…and figuratively: it means looking pulled together, polished, chic, elegant. In other words: not thrown together a la “anything goes”, but purposefully dressed!
If, in the recent past, words like classic, grown-up, well-mannered, comfortable, womanly had seemed to be antonyms to the word fashion, for fall and winter 2010 they are synonymous. The going trends have caught up with what women really want : stylish, not kook-y , feminine not girley; modern and contemporary not outlandish; young not teeny-bopper! Good-bye kid-stuff! Hello adult! Classics and timeless investment dressing are not dirty, non-fashion words. They are what the new clothes and what the new modern dressing are all about. Modern, stream-lined, uncontrived classics! T’is a season when the always beloved camel coat, be it a polo, a trench or a voluminous wrapper is the IN coat and heralds in the classics, with a capital C !

Rich fabrics, gorgeous color, and simple sleek silhouettes are the signature elements of the Kathlin Argiro collection. Her style is often compared to that of fashion icons Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O. Now you can meet this lovely designer and see her gorgeous Fall/Holiday Collection, as Merrick’s Too presents its KATHLIN ARGIRO TRUNK SHOW on FRIDAY & SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th and 18th. Our shop will be full of Kathlin’s daytime, cocktail and special occasion dresses – with a shipment of her fabulous wrap dresses in store for our Grand Opening on September 11th. Kathlin herself will join us at the Trunk Show on Saturday the 18th. Don’t miss it!

Not to be outdone by losing our lease, Merrick’s is BACK! We”ll re-open shop from September 11th through October 31st at The Princeton Shopping Center on Harrison Street. We’re #49 – right between Bon Appetite and Main Street Restaurant, and across from Metropolis Salon & Spa. So gather your girlfriends and make a day of it – manicure at Metropolis, lunch next door and Merrick’s Too – where you can shop til you drop!
What you’ll find at Merrick’s Too is the same personal service, honest opinions and quality clothing we’ve brought you for over twenty-five years. BUT, you’ll see something else as well! Your response to our “closing sale” was so amazing that Merrick’s T00 will continue to carry discounted ‘samples’ from your favorite designers, in addition to the season’s most current Collections.
We’re also planning Trunk Shows just about every weekend, so take a look and mark your calendars now!
